Safety & thoughtful care

A Good Adventure Starts With the Right Pack

Our first responsibility is choosing appropriate experiences for each dog—not filling a spot in a group.

We start with compatibility

New dogs begin with a First Adventure & Pack Readiness Assessment. We look at social comfort, leash manners, responsiveness, energy and overall suitability for group outings. A dog may need more preparation or a different service before joining.

Supervision and appropriate grouping

Dogs have different personalities and activity levels. We aim for compatible group experiences with attentive handling and appropriate pace. We do not promise every dog will enjoy or qualify for a pack environment.

Weather, terrain and hydration

Trail conditions, heat, air quality and each dog's needs matter. Our team evaluates whether an outing should be adapted, shortened or rescheduled for safety. Ask about water, rest breaks, terrain and seasonal scheduling.

Transportation and communication

Round-trip pickup is part of regular hikes in confirmed areas. Before a dog's first adventure, we discuss handling, contact information and relevant care needs. Please disclose health, mobility, reactivity or transportation concerns so we can assess suitability.

Training isn't a guarantee

The first hike includes practical observation and guidance; it is not a promise to resolve behavioral issues. For individualized training, we can discuss services through DEN Urban Dog Retreat.

Ready to explore?

New dogs start with our $125 First Adventure & Pack Readiness Assessment. Approved dogs can join regular $65 pack hikes with round-trip home shuttle.
