Is Your Dog Ready for a Group Hike?

Pack hiking is exciting, but not every dog is ready for a group adventure right away.

Ask About Your Dog
Real Eastside Hounds dogs on an outdoor group adventure

Before enrolling, think about how your dog behaves around unfamiliar dogs, people, leashes, cars and stimulating environments. A dog doesn't need to be perfect; they do need to be comfortable enough for a safe introduction.

Signs of potential readiness

Dogs who can remain reasonably comfortable near other dogs, respond to familiar guidance, recover after excitement and handle outdoor movement may be good candidates. Their health and stamina also matter.

Reasons to slow down

Severe fear, persistent conflict with other dogs, significant leash reactivity, difficulty recovering from stress, or medical restrictions may mean another type of support is more appropriate. A group hike is not a replacement for individualized behavior work.

Why an introductory hike helps

We begin with a $125 First Adventure & Pack Readiness Assessment to learn about your dog's social comfort, responsiveness, handling and general fit. We'll discuss next steps rather than automatically enrolling every dog.

What to tell us

Share your dog's age, energy, prior group experiences, health considerations and pickup neighborhood. Being candid helps us recommend the best experience.

Ready to explore?

New dogs start with our $125 First Adventure & Pack Readiness Assessment. Approved dogs can join regular $65 pack hikes with round-trip home shuttle.
